How accurate are gym bikes?

I've no turbo trainer at the moment so I was thinking of using the gym bikes. This particular one gives watts but out of interest, how accurate would they be? Also what intervals should I do on these bikes?

Thanks.

Maybe tell us the make of the bike? As for intervals, it depends what you want to achieve doesn't it?

Unless it's a watt bike I'm going with that they're all bobbins.
    Go by perceived effort instead
  • Get a free phone app that'll work with a bluetooth HRM if you can't swing for a setup with a PM.

The gym bikes are worthless for HR and power if not one of the big bike training brands.

Wattbikes are not the only quality static bikes that measure power accurately. I have seen gyms with ProForm bikes which are as accurate as a wattbike. ProForm are surprisingly smooth to use and feel more like a real bike than a wattbike which feel quite clumsy imo.

Every time you post something like this someone will suggest at you age first year junior, you need to be speaking to your club coach or the like.
Do I need to say it.
