I can't find many reviews of these wheels. Anybody tried a set, and if so how do they rate? I guess full on aero disc wheels are still a bit of a rarity but I'm surprised there's not more info on the tinternet.
Also, how about the Reynolds Strike disc wheels? These come as stock on a number of the Canyon Aeroad models this year but again I can't find much info about them.
Pretty much identical weights and depths... any reason to splash the cash on 404 discs over something like the Strike discs?
Thanks!

Are the Zipps worth £500 more (that's the difference I would be looking at)? They are almost identical in weight and the Zipps are based on the Firecrest rim brake design, which whilst brilliant has been around for a few years - are these the last of the old stock, or still a genuinely brilliant wheel worth investing in?
How are the Zipp 77/177 hubs compared to the Reynolds?

Having owned 2016 Zipp 404s, I would definitely buy again.
Can’t help with the disc version, but assume it’s pretty much identical.0 -
You're going to struggle to find many people who have rode these. Despite the posh disc versions being pushed heavily in the press you don't see many in the wild. Where I ride disc brake bikes are usually winter bike fodder.
Like Ryan I've got rim brake 404s which I like and am happy with. I especially like the way they handle in the wind - no different to my Mavic Ksyrium SLs despite the extra depth (that'll be the zircal spokes on the Mavics to thank then!). They handle well, none of that brown chamois moment stuff you used to get when your deep sections tried to go straight on in fast corners. Happy times! None of that will be any different on the disc version, they're just heavier at the hub and have a few more spokes up front.
I don't think anyone has come up with a better shape since everyone still copies it, so I wouldn't worry about it being out of date. You're always just a year away from the next version of everything anyway.
Are the Zips worth £500 more? They're both overpriced aren't they, but the likes of Zipp and even more so Enve really push the boundaries of what people will pay. As always it depends on how important the £500 is to you. If you're going to waste it on fancy beer and designer jeans anyway then get the Zipps if you like them and they make you feel good. If it means you won't be eating every other day then, erm, still get the Zipps! You'll need to eat less so you'll loose a shedload of weight and will soon be a climbing God as well as being .2 of a mph faster on the flat!0
