Ok, so, it's time for the FSA rings to come off the Supersix.

So, what's involved.

Am I right in saying that.

You remove the cranks and rings. The existing spider arms are taken off the crank and the spider rings simply slide onto the right hand crank arm then reassemble?

There is a special tool to loosen the lock-ring that attaches the spider to the crank-arm. Once this is loosened you dispense with the spider and attach the Spidering - reusing the lock-ring. Not sure how you'd do this without the tool though......

Ta, I may get one ordered into a 'Dale store and ask how much to fit.

Was just about to post something similar / related - hope I’m not hijacking the thread.

I have the SISL2 with FSA 53/39 rings. Use two sets of wheels both with 12/26 cassettes. I want to change the rings to 50/34 or maybe 52/36. Can I do this or does the 110/130BCD difference cause an issue. I know the top end model of my bike came with standard and compact spiderrings suggesting they are interchangeable.

Apologies in advance for asking what may be a stupid question but I’m useless at stuff like this!

    Cheers

  • I don’t think you need to worry about bcd. The rings and arms come off. The entire spider ring replaces it.

Cannondale used to supply bikes with both 110 and 130 BCD spiders. If you have both it would be cheaper to just replace the rings after swapping the spider - although you'd still need the lockring tool. The spidering replaces both spider and rings
