Looking at a new bike for when my broken leg heals as my football career is definitely over!!

Not got a massive budget, was looking at a plant x ec130 but have seen this on eBay. Don't know much about it.

I'm also 173cm so not sure of that fit but I guess I could sit on it before deciding whether to purchase, but is that a good amount of bike for the money??

Thank you

I think it would be too big for you. Getting the right size is essential.Plus I think it's over priced.

There are some cracking deals on new bikes at the moment.

Why not pop in to your lbs and see what they have to offer. They would be able to help get the fit sorted and you would get a warranty with the bike.

Thank you, I did think that it was a bit on the large size but wasn't sure.

It has sold now so no need to worry about it anymore.

My LBS don't have anything that I really like in my price range, so am happy to keep scouting the classifieds/ebay etc to find something.

I am not weight bearing on my leg until at least 20th Dec so not in any rush to buy something, but if I found something that was a real bargain it would be daft to turn it down

Well there are some great deals about.

Have a look for a Specialized Allez or something like these:

Good luck with the recovery. Hope you feel better soon.

What I would do in that case is get to the LBC and find a bike that's comfy

Then go online and get the geometry specs (your baseline) and compare the ones you are looking at (in the classifieds/online etc) against the one you've actually sat on.

That way you will know what size to look for and what will fit you etc.

Thanks for your help guys, I'm keeping my eye out for a fantastic bargain but suppose the sensible thing to do is wait till I have the all-clear to be able to ride again before spending out on a bike, that way it will be spring and at least the weather will be a bit more appropriate for it as well.
