Hi All
I'm looking to buy my first mountain bike (sub £400) to see if it's something I enjoy. I have narrowed it down to two but thought I'd get peoples thoughts and advice on them;

Thoughts?
Thanks

Neither.
Up your budget by another £100 and get one of these:

There's a 29er version of the Vitus too.
At sub-£400 you're in the realm of BSO's (bike shaped objects), another couple of hundred gets you a 'proper' mountain bike.
The Vitus won the hardtail of the year last year in the MBR tests:

You can also get 10% off an either halfords or CRC with a £22 for the year British cycling mebership, that would be £50 off each bike.0
