Turbo wheel - thru axle and disc

Afternoon

I've been gifted an only slightly used Elite Rampa and am looking to put some miles in over the winter.

I recently got an insurance replacement 2017 Giant Defy Advanced 1 that has disc brakes, 11 speed cassette and a 12mm Thru-axle

I can't for the life of me find a compatible rear wheel that would be a straight swap to avoid damaging my road wheel.

Surely someone here has one that they can recommend? Thanks,

This should adapt your wheel (or any that fits ?) http://www.wiggle.co.uk/wahoo-kickr-12m ... 1263374942

See how you get on with your tyre. You won't damage your wheel.

Your tyre may wear - but how much is a tyre compared to a whole new wheel cassette and tube and tyre ?
  • Apparently I need to use this axle to work with the trainer

But it's out of stock...not sure what makes it so special TBH

  • I have the same set up. I bought the Kinetic Traxle. It's a bit more robust than the spindle types with packers.

Be careful there are 3 thread types available, kinetic website will tell you which one to buy.

As above I use same wheel/tyre on turbo. I was looking at £250 or so for a spare just for turbo use. i did manage to pick up a spare set of disc compatible thru axle wheels off local club site (think i was lucky though as not a common second hand item) but I've never bothered to fit cassette and tyre as I'm not a heavy user of the turbo.

    Cheers

I managed to find the Elite one on Rose for about the same money - I'll get set up with my existing wheels and see if I fancy a turbo specific one

I've seen a member of Wiggle staff answer in that Q&A section saying that this adapter wouldn't work on the Kickr Snap - but the Kickr Snap one is £60+! Is this just sales talk? Anyone used this on a Kickr Snap?

There's nothing on that for the Snap to clamp to on the lever end, that's why it won't work.
