Carrera Subway 1 vs Schwinn Super Sport 2

Hi all,
I'm looking to buy another 'go to school' bike for my son since his 24'' is becoming too small.
I've been checking at second hand bikes too but I'm leaning more towards getting him a new one due to smaller frame availability, among other things.
Basically, I narrowed it down to these two choices, both are on offer now:
http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/h ... -22-frames
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/schwinn-super-s ... bike-2016/
Both are cheap and there is only £10 difference between the two. What bothers me is a lack of reviews on schwinn bike.
Carrera seems sturdier and heavier, more on the MTB side while schwinn is lighter and more hybrid - like, with 700c tyres.
What do you guys think?

Surprised to see it actually does have better bits and fantastic value. Even at the original £375 price it isn't bad value. Only smaller frames left but fantastic value for those who fit them.0
