I vaguely remember seeing an article about a Garmin TTT which went to ratshit and left them with 4 or 5 riders trying to hang on to a GC position from a very long way out, poss Wiggo and Millar and another couple of good TT'ers. I believe it was in a GT but not sure which or when.

Any ideas?

2009 Tour de France. They narrowly lost to Astana.

The five were Wiggins, Millar, Vande Velde, Zabriskie and one other who didn't contribute much. Hesjedal, I think

Millar writes about it in "The Racer" quite emphatically, as one of his proudest moments.

Your memory serves you well, it was Hesjedal.
