Grab N' Go water bottle

Would cyclists be interested in a double ended water bottle that could be used by commuters? This product would be squirt able with openings on both ends for convenience and a grip to make it easier to use while riding. I am gathering data for a business class I would really appreciate answers both positive and negative.

Anything double ended will leak at the bottom and if you put it down you don't want to get the nozzle dirty ?0
-
Agree with the above ^^ - plus I don't see how a double ended bottle is any more 'convenient' than a standard bottle. No to mention the fact that it will be unlikely to fit into most industry-standard bottle cages.0

Yes I would love one , in fact all bottles should be usable both ends.
Pencils could be sharpened both ends so you never get it wrong !
What a wonderful idea.
And yes I am completley stupid and whilst able to ride a bike , I haven't managed to work out which end of a bottle to drink from.
Jog on ,0 -
nothing wrong with a double ender....0

I'm out.0

Only been using water bottles for 37 years, so have limited experience, yet in that time I have never bought a bottle up to my face to discover the nozzle is at the other end and wished that it had another opening.
If you do go ahead with it make sure it can still stand up0 -
Ignore these buffoons.
I think it's a great idea. Good on ya for thinking outside of the box (or rather the bottle cage in this instance).
Any pics of mock ups you've done?Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

I haven't been using water bottles for quite as long, maybe 30 years on and off, but also have never, ever, ever once grabbed a water bottle and put the wrong end to my mouth or even thought how handy a second nozzle would be. This is a strange idea to say the least, but good luck.
I too, am out...0 -
I don't understand what the point is? I also don't understand the bit about "that could be used by commuters"? Why can't commuters use any old water bottle?0

I think it comes down to legality and weight.
If you think how long it is taking the governing bodies to adapt to something as simple as disc brakes ...a water bottle with "2" nozzles is not going to be allowed in races until 2030 earliest ... and probably initially banned from sportives.
Then there is the weight of the extra nozzle ... you wont sell that idea to the racer, audax, sportive, club riders .... its only going to appeal to people already carrying 3kg of clothes and laptop.
Aditionally, the 2 nozzles means you can share your wattle bottle at the lights with other commuters without risk of infection AND at the same time before the lights change0 -
No thanks.
Normal bottle tops get dirty enough let alone them having one at the bottom.0 -
I'm having difficulty imagining how this could work. So you pull the thing from the cage and stick one end in your mouth and squeeze. What's to stop the contents shooting out of the other nozzle and into your mate's ear?
And how would it be of any use to commuters? Most of the ones I encounter are bumbling around blindly while staring at their phones and dribbling overpriced milky coffee from a cardboard cup.0 -

1. Why would a commuter want to use this product over a standard bottle?
2. Why would it be easier to use while riding?
3. Whats wrong with the standard bottle?
Sorry, but this is rubbish, and its not 1st April yet.0 -
How about a spherical water bottle with an array of semi-permeable membranous "teats"? Pan-orientational water bottle. Even works in orbit.0

OP has 1 post - I wonder what that could mean :roll:0

It sounds brilliant. How about a cycling jersey with rear pockets that are open at the bottom as well as the top to go with it.0

Can I have an espresso/flat white rack for the bike?
More relevant for commuting... more me it is.0 -

I have considered using the go pro karma gimble mount for this ... it would keep it perfectly still and the starbucks sign always pointing forwards
(I haven't ... I dont even have a go pro, let alone the mount ... and I dont drink at starbucks ...... or even have a bike)0 -
How about, using the Cornish pasty as inspiration, water one end and energy drink the other? Or beer.Cube Reaction GTC Pro 29 for the lumpy stuff
Cannondale Synapse alloy with 'guards for the winter roads
Fuji Altamira 2.7 for the summer roads
Trek 830 Mountain Track frame turned into a gravel bike - for anywhere & everywhere0 -
Well I still think it's a brilliant idea.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am
