I am looking for opinions as to which design is generally preferred. I know there are many variables to consider that make this a hard question to answer. This is why I am narrowing the question to the rear suspension technology. Is the Maestro virtual pivot point suspension on the Giant better or the on the fly tuning/switching of the Cannondale DYAD preferred?

Don't know the answer but bear in mind bike rear suspension has been developed for over 20+ years.

It is highly unlikely that a manufacturer will mess up and unless you are top professional rider it's unlikely that you will notice.

Best is to test ride both and see which you prefer.

DYAD pull shocks are not very common so future upgrading, spares or repairs could be a problem.
