A new approach to the team pursuit very nearly caught France out in the ride off for the bronze over the weekend.

    Can't find anything on YouTube but once the team is up to speed Jonny Wale the kilo rider does a massive turn on the front before peeling off and leaving the three remaining riders to hold their advantage.

    Thanks for that - great tactic. Have they regularly been doing that, or did they surprise the French with it?

    It was cool, and nice to see the minows coming up with a new tactic, though in the end the three riders were out there too long. Possibly thier only chance and it was a crowd pleaser.

    Really interesting watching them challenge the orthodoxy of the team pursuit. As well as having man 2 do a huge turn and then drop out they also have man 1 drop into the man 3 position after his initial stint (man 3 is the most aerodynamically beneficial position)
