A new approach to the team pursuit very nearly caught France out in the ride off for the bronze over the weekend.

    Youtube video? Race report? Photos? Maybe a short dance to convey your feelings about this?

    What happened?
  • Can't find anything on YouTube but once the team is up to speed Jonny Wale the kilo rider does a massive turn on the front before peeling off and leaving the three remaining riders to hold their advantage.

    Thanks for that - great tactic. Have they regularly been doing that, or did they surprise the French with it?

    It was cool, and nice to see the minows coming up with a new tactic, though in the end the three riders were out there too long. Possibly thier only chance and it was a crowd pleaser.

    A couple of these boys have put some incredible times in on our evening 10, nice to see a direct comparison between class acts and mortals like yourself.

    EMF or KLF. We should be told....
    Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.

    Really interesting watching them challenge the orthodoxy of the team pursuit. As well as having man 2 do a huge turn and then drop out they also have man 1 drop into the man 3 position after his initial stint (man 3 is the most aerodynamically beneficial position)

    It's all the brainchild of a sports scientist and ex-rower called Mehdi Kordi (KGF, not the KLF)

    Bit more about them from Will Fotheringham;

    https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2017/ ... -world-cup

    Love what they're doing, both in funding themselves and changing tactics in what is, fundamentally, a very conservative discipline.

    They had to do something different to protect Tipper as he’s not quite up to their level at the moment, he’ll get there though.
