Rear Brake caliper QR lever broken. Upgrade?

Hi,
Happy to admit when it comes to servicing/repairing/replacing parts I’m a complete novice. I recently noticed my rear brake QR lever is buggered (Tiagra), won’t close completely (I can see the small ball bearing inside).
I’ve just noticed on Wiggle’s Black Friday sale an Ultegra Rear Caliper for sale. Is it possible to use this caliper or does it have to be a Tiagra? And if so will there be any benefits at all to me ‘upgrading’ as the rest of my groupset remains Tiagra.
Thanks in advance,
Alex

Yes it will work - pull ratios may be slightly different than your distinguished one but it's a rear brake so it doesn't really matter.
Theoretically it's better (weight, power, modulation yada yada yada) but as it's a rear I can't see any major differences but if it's cheap enough compared to a new Tiara one and looks good then go for it.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Thanks for that, at the moment it’s cheaper than the Tiagra so I guess I might as well go for it.0 -

At that price yeah, deffo.
If it's all on special, get a matching front?Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Not sure of the prices you have been looking at but I just had an email from Ribble, Ultegra 6800 brake set for £84.
If you use this link you'll get £10 off
