How wide is too wide? (internal rim width)

Looking at carbon wheels for my 'cross bike, I was wondering about internal rim width for a 33c cyclocross tyre. (I'm going tubeless, its worked great for me in the past)
Is a 25mm internal width going to square off my tyres too much to the point that they do not work as well? I would love the extra volume, but worry that it may be too wide.

I us 25 mm tyres on 21C rims without any problem, so why would 33 mm on 25C give problems?0
