Hi, i'm currently upgrading to SRAM Etap and was wondering if there's much difference between the PG-1170 cassette and the XG-1190? - other than the weight?
The PG-1170 is around £60 and the XG-1190 is about £200 and just wondering if its worth the extra money? is there any benefit to it as they both appear to work with etap from what i understand.
many thanks in advance.

The XG-1190 has fancy elastomers which they say reduce vibration, that an X Glide for smoother shifting. Personally I cannot see any difference I cant say I've noticed any vibration from my cassette in the past.0

No, shift quality is the same. I switched to the PG-1170 a while back and they are absolutely fine.0

If it's all about weight, have a look at Dura Ace as well - not sure on the price differences (probably nothing to tell t e truth) but works with SRAM fine.
And wasn't someone saying that 11 speed across all manufacturers work fine with each other or did I dream that? Brings record/SR into the equation is if so.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Best value without going silly is usually Ultegra.0

OP Is your username a result of being too lazy to add the "by" to match the song line, or is it not related to the theme tune at all, with the whole thing being some some kind of reference to one of his dog eggs?0
