changing some DI2 parts in my 6870 with 8050

Just asking. I see online that it is now nearly impossible to get a CS-6800 cassette and only a CS-R8000 next generation cassette. My question is, if in the future, my rear derailleur RD-6870-GS fails, I think I might like to change it to a new Ultegra RD-R8000-GS. This will probably cost €40 more, but it would fit neater in the back, and let me use a max 34T sprocket in the back.
