Take your own bike and get down to Windhill Bike Park. It's about 30 minutes from Bath and a good escape from all the hipsters and toffs. http://www.mbr.co.uk/news/wind-hill-358817
Ended up taking my own bike and doing a cross country trail from MBUK. a couple of funnish downhill bits but generally too much tarmac, too much flat bridleway and rutted fields, and too many gates. It did help earn a couple of pints that evening though
I'm sure MBUK are a bunch of roadies. They're based in Bath and publish a local route with an unnecessary amount of road. There's loads of better stuff in the area.
Windhill is well worth a visit. It's been open about six months now and is still really busy every weekend, 80 riders in within the first hour and a half last Sunday morning.
It's 20 minutes ride from home for me and used to be our club trails, there's still a fair amount of features there I helped build.
If you like jumps, the step up is awesome fun and really safe to crash.

Windmill if there is a next time up that way.
