Axle to Crown height?

Hi,

I require a new rigid fork for my bike (there is an interesting story as to why, which i will put in my build thread at some point) and i have seen a pretty good fork for sale, but i have a suspicion that the axle to crown length is too long. I do not have access to my original fork at the moment, so i cannot measure the axle to crown length. It is also a random fork so i wont be able to find info online.

The bike is a 90s GT Arrowhead, so i am suspecting the fork that would give it the correct geometry would be an 80mm travel suspension fork? However i am not sure what that translates to in terms of axle to crown length. The fork i am looking at has an axle to crown length of 445mm. A rigid fork that is meant to replace a 100mm travel fork may even be okay on my frame, but not sure. Hoping someone with more knowledge on forks can shed some light as to whether 445mm is too long or not.

Cheers
