Turbo specific tyre lifespan

So I've scoured the internet and can't find the answer to this question.

I've got a second hand (hadn't seen much/any use) Tacx tyre that was thrown in with an old wheel I bought for training and have been wondering how long turbo specific tyres are meant to last before they need to be replaced. At the moment I'm working on the assumption that I can run it until it explodes or shows some extreme (but less dramatic) sign of wear.

What do you think will go wrong with the tyre ?

It's not like you need grip for cornering. I'd be running it into the ground. Or stopping when I can see the inner tube....

That is my intention - I just wondered if their was any plausible reason why they should be replaced for anything other than complete destruction!

The tyre on my turbo bike is 5 years old and still going strong after many thousands of kilometres
