Kickr Snap 2017 Spindown Problems

I'm having issues with dropouts, haywire power measurement etc.
Everywhere I read, an Advanced Spindown seems to be the solution, but this is not an option in the Wahoo Fitness APP, or the utility APP... all I get is the 'Perform Spindown' option ... with no other choices.
All firmware and software is up to date. I'm running the IOS version of the app.
Anybody else had this issue?

This sounds bizarre but works:
In the utility app, press 5 times in quick succession on the icon of the Kickr Snap and hey presto you get the button for advanced spindown!0 -
Im on Android by the way so hopefully it works in iOS.0

They chose to hide it because you can really screw it up by doing to many unnecessary advanced spindowns.0 -

Screw it up in what way?
Given that Wahoo recommends an advanced spin down initially it seems daft to hide it.0
