Freddie Grubb road bike - vintage ?

After a few months searching I was lucky enough to buy a roadworthy Freddie Grubb bike on eBay for £175 - I was intrigued by Freddie as we share the same surname and Freddie won two Olympic medals, and competed in the Giro in 1914. It is fitted with original Italian Ormega pedals and Suntour VGT Luxe gears and levers, Silstar cranks. The seller thinks it's late 60s maybe early 70s. Serial number is 23800 for frame. It's a really nice ride - very smooth and quite quick too.
I've found some info online about FG bikes and it looks as if the seller is about right re age of bike. Does anyone know if / how I can pin down the year of build from serial number ?

I have no idea how to go about with finding out the exact age of the bike... but it's a very nice bike, thanks for sharing!

I'm not sure how to age the frame, but it might be easier to age the components, if they are contemporary with the frame. I think the Suntour V GT Luxe derailleur was introduced in 1973, which would give you an earliest date to work from.
