Replacing front fork

I’m looking to convert my old 2013 Giant Talon 0 29er to a commuter for work and was looking to replace the RockShox Recon Gold 100mm fork the bike currently has with a rigid front fork.
Having had a quick look online for options, would the Surly 1x1 100mm fork work for me? Or are there better options available?
I’m no expert so any advice you have would be appreciated.

Have a look at Mosso forks, they are nice and light and work really well for commuting, I ran one for 3 years on my old bike.
I think the Surley would be OK, but would be heavier than you need.
Don't forget some Giants have whack steere and headset configurations so you may need a new headset or adaptor.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
