Shoe Advice

I’m looking to get some proper MTB shoes to use with my flat pedals (DMR V12s) but can’t decide between the standard 5.10 Freeride or the Elements version. From the reviews I have read it seems that the elements do keep the water out longer, but once it’s in it takes a long time for them to dry out.
Are there any standard Freeride users out there who wear them over the colder wetter months and could give me their opinions? Conversely, is there anybody who has the Elements version that wears them in the summer? I can only afford one pair of shoes so they have to cope all year round.
Thanks

Here’s the entire range:

For wet rides, the Freerider ELCs.

For cold rides, the Freerider EPS.

To be honest the Five Ten range sucks for wet rides. You could try and find a pair of Shimano AM41s for torrential downpours, or AM7s.

I currently have Impact Highs, so I can’t help you any more.0 -
I have some 5/10 impact xvi I'm quite pleased with. Great grip, solid protection, 100% waterproof but with the added issue of acting like a bucket When i recently went through a flooded lane.0
