About ten years ago I cycled up the Quiraing climb and then returned to Staffin and cycled around the Trotternish peninsula. I was wondering if the road is passable all the way to Uig?

I cycled this road last year from Brogaig, east to west as part of a circular from Portree. The road is in good condition. A new section from Uig to Portree has been recently laid and is excellent.0

I have been on this road a few times over the years on my motorbike. Its a well maintained road so you should not have any problems.0

Road was in good condition but the top of the climb itself was really busy with tourists especially for this time of the year. Must be the 'Game Of Thrones' effect.Brian B.0

Skye is struggling to cope with the numbers visiting the island TBH. The little road down Glen Brittle to the Fairy Pools is absolute chaos.0 -
I know what you mean as I spent a week there last year with the family and did the fairy pools on a sunny July day. It was chaos with all the traffic, as was Staffin beach, Kilt Rock and Elgol. Great for local business but some money needs to be spent on facilities, suck as parking, toilets ect. Roads could be better maintained also, some really crap surfaces at times.
On Wednesday past, on my way to Slighachan from Dunvegan I saw the road to Glen Brittle was still really busy, lots of tourists and unusual for this time year compared to other places on the West Coast.Brian B.0 -

The NC500 will be bringing more people to Skye even though it is not part of the official route.

I have always thought Skye was over rated and that there are nicer areas on the mainland.0
