Nit really answering the OP but we got 4 (might have been 5) bikes and wheels (off) in a Berlin go with 3 adults. The other went in a 2nd Berlin go we had hired with the remaining bike (s).

    Great cars for that.

ford c-max the rears seats are all removable, personally i only remove the center seat then can put the bike between the 2 left in and she stands upright..
can fit 2 in doing the opposite , outer seats out middle left in.
Never considered a c-max when i changed car but picked this 1 up cheap and tbh will very likely have another when/if this dies,£850 and done 30+k in 2 years for a couple of oil and filter changes and a front caliper.
  • can get a large frame with front wheel off in the back of an astra quite comfortably. Transit connect is berlingo sized...

Could easily get 2 bikes in my Fabia estate without removing front wheels. Thats a reasonably small car.
  • take up BMX or ride the bike in the first place.

Potentially this is someone who MTB/Crosses and doesn't want muddy bike in the cabin of their car. Folded seats or not, a dirty bike can make a real mess. Also, van potentially provides somewhere to sleep or get changed.

    Vito, every time.

I can get my bike in the back of my Honda Jazz, which is probably their smallest model. Rear seats down. I think I could get it in front of the back seats if I lifted the seats up and took the front (bike) wheel off.

    In summary, any car.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

I have a MK3 Focus ST estate, fold rear seats down and loads of room.
Bought it for exactly that reason as i have a bike in the car pretty much every day.

Was a toss up between the ST and an Octavia VRS estate but the Skoda was poverty spec and slower compared to the Focus.
My winter bike is exactly the same as my summer bike,,, but dirty...

I bought a tailored canvas load liner for my Focus estate, water proof, off ebay for about £50

I got a Ford Transit LWB MK6. 2.4 litre, 6 seater, I can fit plasterboard, both kids and at least 3 bikes in the back without taking the wheels off (try that in a Vito). Sometimes I even put Mrs P in it.
Cheap to run. Cheap to insure. Doesn't have a silly cornering speed limiter (Vito). Cheap for parts. Cheap insurance.

I have the long wheelbase people carrier version of the Caddy, known as the Maxi Life. I can get 3 MTBs with wheels on and 3 people in the car. Plenty of room to stand the bikes up as well.

Could easily get 4 bikes in with wheels off and fit an extra passenger. It's more car-like than the Ford Connect (IMO). It's quieter and drives better. Mine also has the 140hp engine so it's no slouch either. With the back seats in the up position you could easily sleep in the back.
Cool, retro and sometimes downright rude MTB and cycling themed T shirts. Just MTFU.

8x4 Plasterboard do fit in a Vito though and can carry 4 adult bikes fine and that's with van racking in. If you want extra seats get the dualiner which has removable seats. Not sure about a cornering speed limiter thing though but I do value the equipment that gets carried in the back so I control the speed around corners with my right foot. Van life is great so embrace it for what it is and I don't want to look like a tool driving it like a teenager in a Nova SR with a cherry bomb exhaust.

Running a LWB Transit as a 'daily' is a pain in the back side though. Multi story? Supermarket parking? At least in something sized like a Vito/Expert/Hi-ace there is somewhat more practicality.

I'll get some when it comes back from some repair to the o/s inner sill. Apart from that it's clean. Should be back Tuesday.

Why not? Think of the speakers and amps you could fit in it.

Long wheel base? How do people find space to park the monstrocity? Must not be a city dweller

There's a funny echo in here.

Yes, it is a 'monstrosity'. Well, not really. I park it up the street a little between 2 houses. There's a stretch between the two drive ways that's just enough to accommodate the Transit. Neighbours are fine. I have done the odd job here and there for a few of them, so my 'credit' is good. They're getting on and their weeds keep growing.

Blessed be thy elder neighbours. May younguns not move in with their car parks for a long time!
I've been wishing a subaru Forester or Outback for a while, but might as well get a Vito for similar petrol and not much more parking space

Come on now, Subaru Forrester STI...
I considered one of those too before i got the focus but it was 10 years older and not much cheaper.
A remap on my focus sees it with 300bhp, so i can drive it like a SR Nova with a bike in the boot... And the standard Sony stereo system is pretty good too.
    Reminds me of a song...

"Tony's got a new motor, SR Nova, speed into the corner your mother warned ya, ya sound system banger..."

Who knows the song? (Yes, i know it of course..)

There's a bloke that works here that has a big black Merc with silly wheels and air suspension that won a contest for the loudest stereo. I suspect it would make my ears bleed and it's impossible to sit inside when turning it up to 11.

Can't remember the actual song (Has it come to this?) but it's from The Streets' Original Pirate Material. At least one of the half-brothers managed a decent album.
