No, not this time have done it the last couple of years and have decided to try somewhere else. Wife's on about kicking me abroad on a training holiday as a birthday come Christmas present. I'm also doing several bigger rides like Way of the Roses plus a few 200 plus audax,s. Loved the Etape and the area but just fancied a change this time.
Done it the last 2yrs and both times have been completely different weather and experiences, first time I went up snowploughs at the side of the road ready to go with impending snow. In the end it was all 4 seasons in one ride, this time started cool, but was dry all the way through and the views are brilliant. Get accommodation booked sharpish as struggled a bit last year.
Nice ride, just get your accommodation booked quick unless you live that way on. Prices go up and places go quickly for accommodation. Something to aim for, enjoy it.
i live 11miles from inverness. If you're stuck for accommodation, rather than booking something in inverness, look a wee bit further afield (dingwall / beauly / nairn), only a short drive to inverness.
done it that last 3 years, doing paris - roubaix this yr so skipping loch ness. Saw massive pile up on the road to ft augustus last yr, scared the life out of me, put me right off riding side by side with folk who have never ridden in a group before. hope the roads in france are wider...doh, just seen pics of the cobbles
