I used to get 15+ hours when new but just lately it seems to have dropped dramatically. I charge to 100% and now get a low battery warning after 3 to 4 hours. Does anyone know if the battery is replaceable? I'm OK with a soldering iron but just wondered if anyone has done it and if there are any useful tips? I'd rather change the battery than use an external power supply if it is possible.

Many thanks, Your googling powers are better than mine. I'll take the existing battery out and try to get a number off of it. The bunch advertising in the you tube vid want the best part of £40 for their "kit". Most Garmin batteries seem to be about the £10 mark, just got to get the correct one.

Brap, did you manage to choose the correct battery?

Not got the correct battery yet, just realised my set of torx bits don't go small enough to get the back off. Ordered a micro set so should have made progress sometime this week once they arrive.

Finally got round to changing the battery. Very easy (if a bit fiddly) to do. Just remember to clean all the fingerprints off as you go during re-assembly. The battery I got was a 361-00035-00 (3.7 Volt 1000mAh) which is listed to fit a Garmin Nuvi. I just went with the part number. The original battery had the same part number and was the same physical size but said that the capacity was 1100 mAh. Not sure if the slight difference will be noticeable but as the original was going flat in 3 hours I was willing to give it a go. I'll report back once I've been out for a ride and see how long the new one lasts.

Well, looks like good news, out for 2 1/2 hours today with map showing all the time, dropped from 100% to 84%. I was stopped for a cuppa for about 10 minutes but had screen set on during that time.

    Excellent news.
  • Hello

I am having the same problem with my Garmin Edge Touring.

Did the "361-00035-00 (3.7 Volt 1000mAh) which is listed to fit a Garmin Nuvi" work okay and are you getting the 15 hours time now with this new battery even though the mAh is slightly lower ?

    Thanks

    Chrios
