New (first) helmet recommendation

Hi All.
In parallel to looking for a bike, I need a helmet. May as well go for a mips one. So what do you recommend?
Good protection and not to flashy.
Chances are I won't find anywhere to try it on. I can measure my head and figure out the right size. Is this usually enough to get a good fit?
Cheers
Andy

Probably but some helmets fit some heads better than others, so fitting is better.
Just go to Evans and try a few.I don't do smileys.

Yeah I might have to. It's a bit of a trek to my nearest evans though0

I've got the Giant Rail Mips helmet which fits lovely, but as mentioned above I may just have been lucky because a friend has the same helmet and finds it rather uncomfortable on longer rides. Can always find somewhere that does free returns no questions asked, that way if you're not convinced right away then can send it back...providing you haven't actually worn it for a ride and sweated all over it!0

I'm still not convinced about the whole MIPS thing, especially the price.I don't do smileys.

Well i managed to pop to evans yesterday.
i tried this one on:

and i think it was this one:

i cant say they felt much different to be honest. both seem comfortable enough.
So i'll just pick the RAID helmet, or one has good reviews and get it from a place with a good returns policy.0
