  • Cheaper to buy a complete bike and either use that or strip off the bits you want and sell the rest?

the same could be said for tiagra to 105.

I guess if you really want 9 speed get sora, the new version looks pretty much like a 9 speed tiagra anyway

If you want budget go for 2nd hand.

I sold a Sora groupset last year for £80, Tiagra for about £120 and 5800 105 for £180. They all had hardly any miles on them too.

I'd never done the comparison before, just did a single google search and:
9 speed sora is about £250
10 speed tiara is about £270
    11 sped 105 is about £330

I'm thinking the 10 speed tiara is a women's specific groupset? Or have Shimano identified a new cross-dressing cycling niche?

LOL - that was a pretty awful post from me wasn't it - a typo on the "11 sped 105" as well....
    Should take more care.

It's not been that cheap for a while now. Was hovering around £300 till the Brexit vote, then the pound went through the floor.
  • Shimano 105 11-speed is still an incredibly well refined groupset for the money. Super slick.
