hi,
When see shops selling bikes by size such as 52cm, 54cm etc, what is this a measurement of, the top tube?

  • To be honest it's largely arbitrary and can vary quite dramatically between manufacturers (and indeed models).

You're better off googling 'Stack and Reach' as a measurement... most companies provide those figures and they give a much better idea of the size than the length of any one tube.

Usually top of the seat tube to the middle of the bottom bracket.
