Lost wedding ring, Surrey hills

A real long shot this one but I think my wedding ring (a platinum band) dropped off my finger in the surrey hills, either heading south down whitedown or north on the descent from coldharbour to dorking.
In the highly unlikely event anyone comes across it, I'd be happy to offer a reward for its return.
Thanks

  • There are hills in Surrey!?
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles

    Of course there are!

But in all seriousness, I hope you find it. That's rotten luck. I was always worried so took mine off when I went cycling (or at least that was my excuse for leaving it at home when I went out, lol)
  • Thank you Middleringer, as my wife said to me on my return, "worse things happen at sea" but it is proving to have been a bit of an expensive bike ride !
  • Have you got a twitter account? If not worth setting one up as plenty of people will share it (myself included)

Why? Just claim off the household insurance. Or did something else happen.

  • Just put a tweet out, a bit dubious of Twitter myself but worth a try. Thanks

  • Perhaps I'd like to exhaust all avenues first ? After 17 years, it has value beyond monetary.
  • That's all well and nice and admirable in some eyes but think of the new wheel you could get with the money.

    Shooooooom went the new wheel.

he's already covered that. its not a bike wheel. it has sentimental value as well as monetary value.
  • It's a ring - don't get angry.

    Just get another.

That's why I got a twenty quid titanium one. It still has sentimental value as well.
  • I stopped wearing mine 5 years ago, TDV doesn't wear hers, only occasionally wears her engagement ring. Both of them live in the jewellery box.

    It's only a ring.

    It's only a ring.
    Said Prince Albert.
  • No one is angry, really. As I said from the outset, it's a real longshot but it doesn't mean that it's not worth asking the question just in case.
As for being serious, I thought the emoji after my comment would have been adequate to indicate it was tongue in cheek.

Lost mine on an off-road motorcycle experience. 8 weeks after the wedding. Never showed. Popularity was nit my strong point for a little while afterwards. Hope you get better luck.

One of my Dad's (one Dad, married once to clarify) rings is kicking around the bottom of the National Water Sports Centre, and another basically saved his finger in an industrial accident - he still has this one, with the massive piece of the band still missing. Think he's up to his fourth ring now.
