Does Zwift need decent broadband ?

Thinking about the looming winter and considering a new smart turbo with Zwift.
But, I live in a rural village South Devon where in the evening my internet is less than 1mb. Renders Netflix, SKY Q et al useless.
So, despite looking at my options I am yet to conclude if swift requires a super fast signal. Anyone know ? Don't want to spend the dosh if it ends up being staccato cycling ! Tried playing pro evo online once, just shocking
There are times I occasionally miss Bristol LOL.
Thanks !

1mbps is close...... I have a 100mb virgin link
And I hit those speeds sat at the desktop ..... most of the wifi devices get 75mbps .... anything that connects to the old Apple wifi only gets 25mbps and my garage where I play Zwift which is connected to the house via a ethernet over power hub sees a massive 1-3mbps depending on time of day. Zwift recomends 3mbps. But I have been fine at 1 ... not seen less than 1 though
the times it has been playing up (virgins fault) I run it over the laptop tethered to the phone on 4g and its fine on that as well ... do you have a 4g signal ?0
