Impressive iTT crash during the Tour of the Moselle

Last weekend AG2R B squad cyclist Maxime Roger had a nasty fall when his handlebars separated from his fork during the Tour of the Moselle in France. The rider was at 60 km/h. Suffering a knee injury had had to abandon the race and his second place on the GC.

"it is a hard knock for me" - said Roger after the accident "I was really going well after the Etoile d'Or in mid-July, the team was strong and I think we had a good chance at the GC. I've a lot of cuts and I can't bend my knee, maybe it is a sprain".

Mechanical failure or poor workmanship? It didn't appear to take much of an effort/force for the TT bars to separate from the headset.

Incorrect spec bolts fitted by the AG2R mechanic according to Factor.

Bolts too short apparently, the extensions were literally hanging on by a thread.
