Since a knee op I realise that I need to jump to 3/4 bibs much earlier in the autumn, and certainly before moving to full bib tights or thermals.

So I am looking for summer weight, not thermal fabric, and it seems as rare as - any good suggestions ? and where to find ?

  • If you can get over the branding, could be worth considering the Btwin Aerofit 3/4.

I use the Btwin regular length shorts for commuting and the fit is great. Pad is a little thin though.

Not many non thermal 3/4s about. Better to go with knee warmers until it's time for the thermal ones.

Knee warmers are the cheapest and most flexible option.
  • I'm in the same boat as you, since my knee op I'm more careful to keep them warm. I wear knee warmers from about 12 degrees down to about 6 degrees, then below there am wearing warmer stuff

I'll happily wear my Tiburu 3/4s from 0 degrees to around 15 despite them supposedly being spring/autumn. Never used my knee warmers in years.

Possibly my favourite piece of cycling clothing. A bit pricey but are the only pair of bibs I'll wear for around 6 months of the year.
