    Bet that hurt.

Did you patch him up, or leave him yelling?

Left him yelling. Have to set seat height on the plastic bike so all about priorities.

I'm not saying I'm amazing or anything, but my kitchen smells as goo and TDNFNATN looks.

Imagine TDNFNATN eating my slow cooked lamb tonight .........

I'd be tempted to lob a can or two of cannellini beans in with an hour or two until lift off. Soak up all those lamby winey juices. Though you already had carrots and greens didn't you, so potentially too much.

Good call but might be too much, added to the fact that I don't have any cannelloni beans and have to take bambino swimming and go for for a quick run to test knee while he is doing same said aquatic sport.

I may well do a slow curry over the next couple of days - prep tomorrow night, set timer, off it goes.

That's me sold. I'm going to the shop tonight. Indian supermarket. Get fresh spices, coriander and various pulses for next to nowt. Going to make a lovely dhal to chug away in the slow cooker all day tomorrow, then have it with rice and chapatti for dinner and freeze the rest. Lovely, it'll beat whatever we were going to have.

Namaste my man - that sounds lush.

You are lucky to have those sorts of shops near you - we have nothing like that so although fresh herbs we have in the garden the rest of the stuff is just supermarket bits. Well jealous.

That's going to rock. Jealous as a jealous thing.

  • Can you post your dhal recipe if you have a chance pleeeeeeeeaaaaaassssseeee? If I woo TDV with enough delish food she may let me touch her boobs.

As an aside, I saw Plates at school just now. Ridiculously pretty, just far too skinny with massive feet and lives in a council house, so its a no-go.

We have the shop in the garage and that's it :(

The town is good for pompous food though and no microwave or conventional cooker means all of our food is cooked slowly

Can you post your dhal recipe if you have a chance pleeeeeeeeaaaaaassssseeee? If I woo TDV with enough delish food she may let me touch her boobs.

Lentils - whatever you have - about 300g.
    Butter
    One onion - finely chopped
2 or 3 cloves of garlic - finely chopped
Piece of ginger - peeled and finely chopped
1 or 2 hot green chillies - finely chopped
    teaspoon of cumin seeds
    half a stick of cinnamon
    teaspoon of turmeric
    2 teaspoons garam masala
    salt
    tin of chopped tomatoes
    bit of tomato puree
    water

Soak the lentils overnight if you can @rsed, otherwise, just give them a good rinse.
Fry the cumin seeds and cinnamon in the butter for a minute or two
Add the onions, stir and fry for 5 mins, add the garlic, ginger and chilli, stir and fry for 2 minutes, add the turmeric and garam masala and a squirt of tomato puree, stir and fry for 2 minutes.
    Transfer to the slow cooker.
Add the lentils, the tin of chopped tomatoes and some water, don't overdo the water
Slow cook for 5/6 hours on medium until thick and delicious, stirring from time to time if you're at home. If you've overdone the liquid - tip it into a pan and reduce until it's how you like it. Add salt to taste, and stir through another half tsp of garam masala and a knob of butter, even a slosh of cream if you want. Serve garnished with chopped coriander leaves if you like them.

Rice, breads etc. Or what we do sometimes is serve with thick slices of roast pork belly.

May or may not result in a good old mash of TDV's boobs.
  • sounds well cool - I'm on it like a car bonnet.

    grazie mille!

    Buggeration.
Is there a connection there? Just a blind guess as you live in Wales...

Yes, unless you're an Arsenal fan.

  • Don't have BT/Sky so been keeping up to date on BBC minute by minute.

Feel a bit sorry for those other dudes really. 3 points and great GD for us though.

I can't be @rsed with it. Was crazy keen as a kid, then had a season ticket at the local club for 10 years, plus going to away games. I haven't even watched match of the day for 10 years. Talk about middle class Eastenders, is that not what football has become for blokes?

Sounds like you have strayed from the path and need to see the light.

It's also a good excuse to rip the p1ss out of Pinno.

When I was kid I used to collect the soccer stars cards and could name every player in the old Div 1.
Would struggle to name all the teams in Premier league now.
Middle class Eastenders for blokes? Sounds about right.

Middle class Estenders on Council TV: that's MOTD on the BBC.
