Shoulder/neck pain - Bike Fit

Good Evening fellow bike radarites,
I have recently come back to the roadie fold & have been getting shoulder & neck pain after around 15 miles, i'm thinking this could be down to excessive reach?
I have done a basic fit utilising some photos of my posture etc... & it would appear that I need to swap the 10mm layback seatpost for a straight post to bring my knee inline with the pedal spindle. Obviously this will bring my whole body 10mm further forward thus reducing the reach.
1st: Is my assumption of the excessive reach the most likely culprit?
2nd: Am I best doing one alteration at a time to ensure that i'm not over compensating?

Yes over reach could be 1 of the reasons. I would suggest putting the stem all way to the top first though before trying a shorter reach as it makes bigger difference at least for me.
You can also use this website to improve your bike fit: https://www.competitivecyclist.com/Stor ... orBike.jsp
Too much air pressure on tires could also
cause similar issues.0 -
Get your saddle in the right position first, then ride, see how it feels.
Saddle position can never be compromised, bike fit all comes from having that correct.0 -
bend elbows & relax shoulders0
