Non-cycling clobber for autumn/winter

The mornings are getting a little chilly for cycling in a t-shirt and shorts now, so I'm looking to see what would work in terms of everyday clothing to enjoy my leisure rides in. I've got lots of cycling specific clothing but want to cycle in regular clothes these days.

I was thinking perhaps a sweatshirt and jogging bottoms would work. I've got padded liner shorts already so would probably wear those for comfort.

For those who don't wear cycling-specific clothing, what are your recommendations for autumn/winter clothing?

Oh my! That is soooooooo fetching!
  • I don't bother with cycling gear for commuting, I commute year around with trousers and t-shirts adding maybe a jumper in autumn or more normally a light jacket.

if the saddle is right padding shorts don't appear to be needed, my normal commute is 3/4 miles but do now and then go into town where it's 10/20 miles and it's still fine, lot depends on pace and weather i.e. 30'C and fast is a sweaty mess but 10'C and more causal pace is fine.

The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Can't tell if you're trolling or not....

Just wear regular clothes then and see how it works for you ?

Wear a Wombles hoody if you want.
  • I just use my walking gear, which I also use for my mountain biking in the winter. I commute on my mountain bike and tend to mix it up by going off-road.
    Goretex Hiking Boots (http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/under-armou ... ot-p409074)
Waterproof walking trousers for when the weather is really foul or just normal walking trousers.
I have quite a few technical jackets depending on the weather and the ride I intend on doing, in the cold I use a down insulated jacket, (http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/rab-microli ... et-p282553) - that jacket is for the real cold rides.
