Morning, a bright start here, the builders are doing a great job I had better get the kettle on for them.0

Commute, work, commute, shepherding, helping a friend revise, bed. Not sure what type of rock-'n'-roll that is - I'd like to say AC/DC, but suspect more Clapton unplugged...0

Pah .... 10 mins of rain this morning .... no more due all day ..... typically all 10 mins fell on me.
Mind you I kind of enjoyed it .... funny how a little diversity and suffering can make an otherwise non-event journey more fun0 -
Morning folks,
Slower start than usual as taking the female child to school as it's her first day back. Much sulking and teenagerness is being endured. Great. Usual Thursday morning hangover is present but not too bad, tried a new beer called American Idiot or something. It was a little bland but quite drinkable. Off to GPC later, traffic should be fun at that time.
Out for a drink with an old friend later, assuming he decides where we are meeting at least. Somewhere in town I think.0 -
Another day hanging around court - may even get to do something if we're lucky."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0

Spent the last three years telling head office at GBC how to do something in the face of stiff resistance and an absolutely ridiculous alternative method being advised. Finally, they have admitted that I was right all along, and now after wasting three years looking into how to implement their half-baked idea, we can now start a project looking at how to do it properly. No doubt this will now take three years. Gimme a gimp and a year, but no, the whole of head office machinery has to grind through pre-studies, steering committees, jour fixes etc etc. Agile my @rse. Anyway, I like my colleague, he had the good grace to say, "wait until you hang up before saying 'I told you so'".
Otherwise, I've got the measure of these wheels. Under 38/40 kph they are just wheels, which is fine, everyone needs wheels, and these ones look nice (at least I think so), but get over that threshold and they really are a super thing, they just keep on giving more if you ask them to, they seem to hold speed, they are stiff and responsive, but never harsh. Now all I need is to be fit enough to ride quickly enough for longer periods in order to make the most of them.
Coffee, lunch, daydreaming, crosswords, some I told you so-ing.0 -

There is always next yearI'm sorry you don't believe in miracles0 -
Driven for 2.5hrs to an office with worse internet connectivity than I had when I was using dial up
Later when meetings are done it's over to a trade show - such fun
Late night means no running and running out of days to train0 -
Office today, not such a bad thing, just waiting for the rain to start which is meant to last until midnight (or sometime in early May). I've just found a massive problem with some work someone has done, I suspect we will be off budget but 35% on 4 jobs because of it. What annoys me most is that I had to work over the weekend because they were very late with another piece of work. Inconveniencing me isn't really as serious but it doesn't help the picture...
Oh, the rain has started0 -

As mine aren't the deep ones I can essentially rule out my sudden increase in speed being due to aero then, must be the 800g of weight saving and fitness. I never hold that sort of speed unless I'm riding back down one of the local hills where I can hold over 50kph for 10km, lots more fun than going up...0 -

It might be aero effect, I mean, I don't have a power meter or anything like that, it's just based on my last few rides, where I've made an effort to push on, and really enjoyed how the wheels have performed.0 -

This is BEPS related - attribution of financial assets to permanent establishments. German interpretation is screwy.
Aaaanyway. Norks, wfh, cafe, Judge Dredd, cider, wfw, nfnatn, smashy smashy. Etc.0 -
You're right, best get back to talking about women, drink and general bollox before somebody reports me.
What's the old philosophical saying - "If the answer isn't beer and women, you're probably asking the wrong question"."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -
Moaning
Bloody weather. It's piddling down. What's it like over there Gazza?
I has been mucking around with Lego Techniks in my absence and I built a dummy diff in anticipation of a project.
That might keep VN happy.

No contact. Bit more mobile with less pain - might go out on my bike at this rate for a proper glass crank given a spot of dry weather. There will be no standing up on the pedals and i'm struggling to find a 15-42 cassette.
Finally got around to fixing the electrics in the garage at PPP as I need power in there.Still can't find the isolation socket cover screws... Now where did I put them?

Madone now built save for setting up front mech that I can't get any outward swing on, trimming down the rear brake outer as it comes from the 'bars and trimming down the steerer so it is SLAMMED and PRO.
Have left it outside and don't care as it is basically a plastic frame with some lovely cranks, seat post and wheels on. Being Ultegra it's a pretty disposable groupset. Bars and stem are nice but not as stiffy making as the cranks.
Not sure if I actually like it enough to keep it. Feels tiny to ride though, like a toy, although it's the same size as everything else I own and has the same bars and stem from the Soloist should be all good. It'll be fine as a n2/3 or dry winter trainerPostby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am
