Hey guys,
I recently bought a calibre bossnut v2 - Very excited!!! I have been riding a Marin Rocky Ridge 2008 Hardtail for the last 9 years and its been a complete workhorse but I decided to jump into the full suspension world this year.
I am planning to transfer my 1x11 setup onto the bossnut as it has a deore rear mech and I have a shimano XT clutch mech and so an improvement.
Now my other idea was to transfer my front forks to the bossnut but Im not sure if its worth it?
The bossnut comes with a Rock Shox Sektor Silver 130mm
My Marin has 2008 Fox Float RL Fork, 140mm travel
Now the calibre beastnut the pumped up version of the bossnut has a 140mm shock and its meant to really stretch the bike out and improve it even more. Do you think taking out the rock shox and swapping it over is a good idea considering the floats are 9 years old. The floats were extremely well rated back in the day and still work really well.
Be good to hear your thoughts
Thanks

If the Floats are in good condition, I'd go for it, I think the Bossnut has a tapered steerer so you'll need a headset adaptor, but if nothing else the Floats will save a chunk of weight.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Thanks mate
It does indeed have a tapered steerer so ill have to get one I guess.
I also saw these, I guess this could be a viable option to keep the bossnut headset and use this:

Only if it's a Cane Creek headset, or the same bearing at least.I don't do smileys.

Might be a silly question, is the fork on your Marin suitable for a 27.5" wheel size?0

Hey. I decided not to do it in the end I didn't calculate the fact that the new forks would be too big to fit into the old frame head tube. Doh!!!0
