    I can recommend De Vere Village, Cardiff
    Just off M4, do an early breakfast from Dragon riders

    Blancos hotel in Port Talbot is OK and closeby about 3-4 miles from the start.

    Porthcawl got lots of B&B and about 15mins drive away

    The Village Fabian Way Swansea is also within about 15mins drive of Margam Park.

    Cardiff is easily a 35-45 min drive so too far out as there are better options

    For location you cant beat the L&A Adventure Centre - http://www.landaoutdoorcentre.co.uk/, it's a short ride to the start. We stayed there last year as a group of 20 or so in a big and basic dormitory. There are some lodges alongside the stream fro smaller groups that are much nicer (still basic). They even have a classic Welsh working mens club a short stroll from the centre, haven't drunk beer that cheap since I was a student!
