Going Tubeless with Mavic Ksyrium SL wheels
Would appreciate some advice
Having just successfully converted my MTB wheels/tyres to tubeless I'm thinking of doing the same with my road bike especially as I need to change the back tyre. Was thinking of going tubeless if I can which will mean buying tubeless ready tyres (am thinking of getting Schwalbe Pro One tyres) but the issue is about my wheels. They are Mavic Ksyrium SL wheels (about 5 years old) and was wondering whether they can be 'converted'. I'm not sure what makes a road tyre 'tubeless ready'. Does it need to have special rims or is it simply that they have no spoke holes? If it's the latter then the Ksyriums have no spoke holes so I don't need to apply tape.
Would appreciate knowing if anyone has converted to tubeless using the Ksyrium SL wheels and whether you would recommend the Schwalbe tyres or something else?
Many thanks
