New frame with proprietary seat post

I'm replacing my frame and have seen a Merckx at a substantial discount.
Only problem I can see is the propriety seat post.
With a carbon frame and carbon seatpost I'm not sure I could happily clamp it in a work stand.
Any other way to hold the bike to work on / wash?

    Don't clamp it?
    I've managed for years.

I've clamped my Carbon Canyon on the top Tube loads of times.Just have to be a bit more careful than with allu.
  • Got a Giant defy with D shaped seat post so interested in this too. It seems all advice is stay away from toptube amd stick to seat post. Looking at a park tool style bike stand but dont want to splash out for the ones that attach to forks. Alot of fuss to beable to clean drive train fully.

Been clamping at the top tube for years on both aluminium and carbon frames. Just dont clamp it hard. Leave a small gap and wrap the top tube with a rag/towel.
