Viner Mitus Frame Damage!

Hello All,
Noticed a small crack at the bottom-rear of my top tube a while back, but thought it wasn't worth mentioning. However, since then things have gotten worse. More cracks have appeared and paint has started to flake off, leaving a nasty scar on my frame. I'm kicking myself that I rode on with it for the past few weeks, and now it's more severe.
Got the frame last June so should be covered by PlanetX 2-year warranty, right?
I've opened a support ticket, but the progress is slow. So far they've only asked for a picture, nothing more.
I'm hoping they'll replace the frame (especially as I spent all afternoon disassembling my bike to pack up the frame for shipment - perhaps I should've waited on that one).
My concern is that they will say it looks like crash damage - which it is not, although I will admit it does look pretty bad - and not replace my frame.
How's your experience with PX warranty been?
Cheers,
Ed

Looks like impact damage ' bruise', particularly as it is on an exposed edge - there's no changes in section/thickness that would results in a stress-raiser that would lead to such damage. Good luck with a warranty claim, but you might want to investigate carbon repair too. Your only warranty claim would be whether it was damage in transit / before you received it - very hard to prove in hindsightMake mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Hi Ed,
Is that not purely cosmetic? Does it flex under your thumb, if you press?Ben

Loks like paint damage only...0

Thanks for all responses.
Indeed looks cosmetic, but it does flex minimally under thumb pressure.
Frame being picked up today and sent to PX for inspection.0 -
They'll probably just paint over it.
I don't like that green tape though, was it holding a Sportive number on or something?I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles0 -
Looks like you've dropped a spanner onto it or something ? Like the others - I think it's cosmetic but lets see what they say.0

Update: PX received and issued an exchange yesterday, no questions asked.
Yodel are delivering the replacement today!0 -

Nope, simply to mark out the damaged area to PX.0 -
You will just have to hope that the replacement doesn't get thrown about in the Yodel Sort Centre and in the back of the van!0
