All will be fine once summer arrives... Oh! As I said way back in April (I think) it is as well to pretend to be a tough Belgian and simply get on with it. Or, I was bored at work.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

No such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing.

Saying that im currently in the arse end of Spain and its hot as buggery.. Still getting out on the bike and suffering in the heat/hills but its all good fun. Mostly...
My winter bike is exactly the same as my summer bike,,, but dirty...

It's not bad cycling weather really. I'm enjoying myself out there anyway. I don't get why a bit of showers and rain means it's bad weather. Avoid the deep puddles have guards on age nd you'll be ok.

So you go slower into the wind and faster downwind. Big deal! Resistance training one way and strava PBs the other. All good.

But it's too windy to use my unneeded, expensive, posing deep carbon rims.

It's my fault, sorry. I removed my mudguards a while back whilst having a major fettling session and haven't bothered refitting them. I'll put them back on over the weekend.
  • I was already nuts.;)

But I've noticed that it was far easier to lay plans to do a South Downs ride back in the sunshine of early June, often setting off before 0700, rather than trying to similar rides since having the ~6 weeks of almost continual overcast/wet weather.

Bright blue skies are such a psychological boost set off on rides, especially 2+ hour ones, at least for me.

After "having fun" trying to work out how to use the Lezyne Root navigation planner and transfer the route to my Super GPS for the first time yesterday afternoon, I finally set off for my longest ride to date (a mere 53 miles) just before 1600, when I had been contemplating a ride since ~1400!

Posing or cycling? What's more important? I have my views.

At last, a bit of honesty.

On the original point, I actually don't think the weather so far this year has been too bad, at least in my part of Gloucestershire. That said, I'm just coming back from an enforced nearly two month lay off due to a bad crash and am lapping it up at the moment, even with the odd shower (and that's coming from a self-confessed wimp when it comes to wet weather riding!).

PS. It was nice and sunny when I finished typing the above and got changed to go out for a quick ride. Went out to the shed to get the bike and it was peeing down - Ballocks.

Been another half decent summer in the SE I'd have said, but not spectacular. Been out for a few nice rides after work while the light's available. Must be the non-Londoners who are going stir crazy.

Yes indeed. I hope September weather rolls deep into October to make up for it.

No one's really tackled the subject of the current wave of lunacy though.

Liar. I don't know what part of 'North' you live in.

Did you know, North doesn't really start until Cairnryan? It took a Ugandan to make that observation when he travelled North, always seeing signs on the road for this 'North' and never getting there. So he sat down with a map and worked it out.

We've always been prats and you've only just noticed? The current political climate here and in the US means the lunatics feel empowered so are coming out of the woodwork? Something in the water? Getting rid of those evil moderators? The weather? It's just silly season?

Funnily enough, I was going to say similar myself. Glad I'm not the only one thinking it.

Too many people off on holidays in work combined with no decent racing to distract.

And the world generally has gone crazy.

You can pose while your cycling or cycle while you pose. The wind means I end up going out on my old best bike rather than my new best bike.

Aaah! Not a dilemma I'm likely to encounter. I've one working bike and one nostalgic not working bike. That leaves me with one choice of bike to ride.

Quite possibly you'd not be seen dead on my bike even if you wanted a hack bike! If you tried.to pose on my bike you'll look a prat.
