Other set of tyre to commute on Cannondale Caadx Tiagra

Hello,

I just purchased the Cannondale Caadx Tiagra and was wondering if I should consider buying another set of tyres for my commute to work (100% asphalt).

The bike comes with a set of Schwalbe Rapid Rob (700x35c) and I wouldn’t want to puncture them straight away...

Thanks!

I had the same tyres on my CAADX when I bought it. Swapped them for Specialized Armadillos and am glad I did as after 4000km they are showing little signs of wear. They are heavy, and have high rolling resistance, but my commute is my training so I see it as being akin to resistance training
  • Thanks for your reply. Do you hence have two set of tyres or you just mostly use your bike for your commute?

If your not planning on using your bike in deep sloppy mud a set of semi-slick tyres might work for you. Something like CX Comps or Sammy Slicks would be good. I don't even bother swapping mine over as I don't find them much of a compromise on road.
  • Cheers, just bought the Schwalbe CX Comp Cyclocross Bike Tyre.
