New Bike advice

Hi guys,
I've had great advice from you all before on here many years ago so hoping to pick your brains again
I've been using a brompton (a.k.a clown bike) for about 18 months now for commuting into london and it's rekindled my love for cycling. I'm looking to buy my first road bike with a view to joining a local club once I get my fitness up to higher mileages than I currently do.
I've been doing a lot of research, I have a budget of approx £400-600. I've been looking specifically at Planet X RT-58http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/EBPX58TI/planet-x-rt-58-v2-alloy-shimano-tiagra-road-bike, Merlin PR7RShttps://www.merlincycles.com/merlin-pr7-rs-road-bike-shoe-pedal-deal-99310.html, Decathalon Triban 540 https://www.decathlon.co.uk/triban-540-road-bike-grey-black-105-id_8377756.html and the Ribble Winter Audax https://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/ribble-7005-winter/.
I was particularly keen on the Ribble and was about to pull the trigger on a cracking deal on their eBay store for the Winter Audax with full 105 for £615http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ribble-Winter-Audax-58cm-264-/292211504325?_trksid=p2385738.m2548.l4275, unfortunately someone bought it a few hours before I got round to doing it.
So right now I feel back to square one and am truly gutted that I missed it - something about the horizontal top tube really appealed to me. I'm hoping you can help with the following:
a) Convince me that the Ribble is rubbish and I wouldn't have wanted one anyway
b) Out of the bikes I've shortlisted let me know which you think is the best value/what you'd pick.
c) Let me know if you think there are any other bikes that I have missed that would be better.
BTW i'm 6'1" with a 34" inside leg and figured that the 58cm Ribble would have been a good fit, any advice on sizing would be appreciated.
Thanks for reading the essay and looking forward to your feedback!

Thanks for the feedback, when should the sales start in ernest? I'm in no immediate rush to buy and will use the bike throughout the winter so can wait a few weeks for a better deal.0
