Whyte Wessex?

Anybody here got the Whyte Wessex? I've been considering this as a winter / bad weather bike over say a build using the Kinesis 4s Disc frame. Plenty of glowing reviews online to be fair but some complaints that it's a little bit heavy. I see the 2018 version has new disc brakes and the new ultegra crankset / rear derailleur, but can't get any weight details on that model as yet. I'd be using it for fast club runs, Audax / sportive and general all round riding. Any owners thoughts or comments greatly appreciated.
Ps I know some prefer to have a cheaper heavier winter set up with lower spec components e.g. Tiagra / 105 but I'm happy to have a better spec as likely I'll be spending a lot of time on it given the fickle British weather!
