Shimano compatibilities - hydraulic brakes

Hi all
I’m fairly new to cycling and I would like to install drop bars and hydraulic brakes on my bike.
My current bike setup:
Merida Speeder 2016 – Flatbar.
Tiagra 4700 trigger shifters and derailleurs.
Tektro Vela hydraulic brakes – mineral oil operated
Issue 1
The new Tiagra hydraulic STI’s (RS-405) only comes with a flat mount brake caliber, and I have post mounts.
So, could I buy only the hydraulic Tiagra STI’s (without new brake calibers attached) and connect them to my current Tektro Vela brakes as a workaround? :?:
Sincerely yours
DuncanDK

Probably not. You could buy Shimano MTB calipers though.0

There is a table by Shimano somewhere that shows which groupset is post mount. I think it was 105 and I think Merlin or Vanilla started stocking them a few months back. I've been looking at changing a a post
mount setup so remember the table but haven't got a link to hand.0
