Looking for a MTB for my 3 mile commute and start mountain biking. Budget up to £600. Have narrowed it down to these.


GT Avalanche Elite 2017

Or

Giant talon 2 2016

    The Boardman bike looks interesting does it have a better spec. What are the advantages of a 120 mm travel fork Vs 100mm.

    I have decided to go for the boardman, but i am confused on which size i should get. I am 5 foot 6.5" but the sizing on boardman website is different to halfords or cyclerepublic.

    I would say medium however some might prefer a smaller frame... I recommend visiting halfords and sit on a small vs medium and may be have a pedal in the car park if they let you.

    Went to look at the bike today I will have to go with a 16 as there is no stand over clearance on the 18.
