Fork mounted roof rack for disc brake and thru axles?

Hi all,
I have a set of Thule wingbars on my roof, and 2 Thule roof racks fitted. Working fine.
I now need a third - I was thinking of just getting the same one but when in the shop I saw the newish fork mounted racks. I ride a Giant Defy Advanced Pro 1, which has disk brakes and (I think!) a 12mm Thru Axle.
The guy didn't know much about them in the shop and online I can't find the info I think I need - for example the "Outride 561" says it has an adapter for 20mm thru-axles but doesn't state what the standard size is.
So is the Thule Thru-Ride the only real sensible choice? It's a bit more expensive but seems to be the right option for minimum fuss etc?
