I have a Shimano 6800 11-32 t cassette on my bike at the moment, I like the safety net of the 32t when I do ultra long distances. I now want to swap it out for a 11-25t for a TT that I have entered. The TT is flat and I find the ratios on the 32t are quite far apart in places

I had the 25t lying around and its never been used. My question is if I stick on the cassette with a new chain cut to suit the existing 32t will I be alright to swap out cassettes without any issues?

My thinking is that since the 32t has a 25 tooth ring on it it should be fine. Am I correct?

Discussed here, would say that 32 to 25 would give a few not required links. To further upset the chain gods I have reconnected with 2 quick links the piece extracted whilst switching from 28 to 32 regularly.

My 2014 Boardman CX bike came with a 10 speed 10 - 32 cassette. I bought a spare set of wheels for road tyres an put a 10 -28 cassette on. I swap between the 2 sets. It hasn't made a difference ...... although I dislike hills more.
